St Ambrose

 

 

To coincide with St Johns' new communities, a group of St Ambrose year 8 and 9 students worked alongside two of our art teachers in vreating a mosaic that represented St Ambrose. The mosiac will be hung in the new school building. Father James blessed the mosaic on St Ambrose Feast Day.

 
Animation Project

 

From September all year 8's will take part in a computer animation module run by E-Learning. Some year 8's are currently creating plasticine figures as part of their animtaion project. In the new school building pupils will be embarking on a similar project where they will study the history of animation, concluding in a Wallace and Gromit style animation using a programme available in school from ZU3D.


 
Kandinsky Workshop

 

On Friday 5th February 20 students from year 7-9 were involved in a collaborative workshop between dance and art. The students worked on the project for just one day with a performance displaying their achievements at the end of the day.

Street Dance Workshop

On 26th and 27th November all year 9 students at St John's Catholic Comprehensive were involved in a street dance workshop with a dance artist by the name of Majic from 'Interlude Dance Company'.

Stomp Workshop

When Stomp came to visit St John's on 5th & 6th November all year 8 students took part in the fantastic workshop that the company provided. The company are well known for recycling everyday objects such as metal bins and sweeping brushes to create rhthms which they dance to.
